Who are we?
In the beautiful historic village of Obervellach in the Mölltal in Carinthia you will find the authentic Austrian chalet Almhütte zwei Welten. A contemporary B&B in which the atmosphere of Austria has been preserved and you will find the comfort you can expect at your holiday address. Here you are at home from home.
Our comfortable rooms are attractively furnished and fully equipped. The rooms are connected and can also be rented by groups. A kitchen diner, wellness bathroom, garage for bicycles, spacious parking lot and skiroom in the basement are some of our extensive facilities.
From the Almhütte Zwei Welten you can make beautiful walking and cycling trips through the area. The Alpe-Adria Trail (an approx. 750 km hike from the foot of the Grossglockner to Muggia/Triest in Italy) runs past the chalet. In the summer there are activities such as (mountain) biking, canyoning, rafting, surfing, supping, hiking, horseback riding and golf. In winter the Mölltaler Gletscher 20 minutes from Obervellach offers perfect snow up to 3150m. Close by you will find the Ankogelbahn at Mallnitz and the train takes you in 15 minutes to Bad Gastein where 200 km of large ski area awaits you.
In June 2021 we, Ingrid & Peter, fell in love with the ALMSTÜBERL in Obervellach, a renowned café-restaurant, successfully run for years by Richard and Hildegard Windisch.
With our enthusiasm and eye for detail, the Almstüberl is converted into a beautiful chalet in which we receive guests from all over the world who are looking for the original Austrian atmosphere and who want to enjoy beautiful walks, ski or bike rides in the area as true nature lovers. .
We love to offer a warm welcome after a long day outside in the wonderful mountain air. Hiking or cycling tours can be taken directly from the Almhütte Zwei Welten. Then you dive into one of the spacious bathrooms, have a drink or play a game in our cozy stube and you can go your own way in our apartment with well-equipped facilities. Or round off the day with a sumptuous dinner in the picturesque village of Obervellach or the higher Mallnitz.
